Can we just add that this was a much better match-up than ‘BatMan vs. Superman‘ (Sorry DC!)

Civil War checked a lot of boxes for movie and comic lovers worldwide; it was highly engaging, and it opened us viewers to a side of C.A and I.M we have never seen before – a vulnerable yet strong side.

The visual effects were ‘Sick!’ and I’m talking about the good kind – all the way from the battle scenes down to the much anticipated appearances of Spiderman and Black Panther.

For a movie, the character development was pretty impressive (props to the screenwriters) and then the Legendary Airport scene was just that – LEGENDARY! (Thumbs up to the Russo brothers).

This was nothing short of ‘Near-Perfect’ and I have a feeling Marvel will not be able to top this.

Or will they?

10-WORD REVIEW:  Great effects, Beautiful acting, careful storytelling and then absolutely NOTHING!

Trust me, there’s nothing wrong with the way Marvel’s X-Men franchise rolls, its worked for it all this while. But a little tweaks here and there would have been great.

Each movie feels like a remake of the last, only with a different psychopath wanting to change the order of things.

Humour-wise, I was fulfilled. (Thanks to Quicksilver), Battle-Wise, I was blown away (good job to all the cast members) there was just enough drama in there to keep the drama queens smiling, the score was actually impressive, Apocalypse was a WORTHY opponent…

I will admit, Jennifer Lawrence (Raven) was not used to her full potential.. Even my baby -Sophie Turner had more presence than her on-screen. James McAoy (Dr. X) and Michael Fassbender (Magneto) on the other hand – were GOLD!

But what the hell was that with the whole ‘wolverine’ ish?

I mean, no offence BUT it would have been much better without the whole Wolverine scene, if you ask me – they should have given the mutant a more involved role instead of that ‘obvious’ cameo.

Like I said before, this had all the features of a regular X-Men movie, and that was kinda the problem!

SCORE – 5.7/10

But, I cant tell you what to do so I can only assume you’re still scrolling…

Anyway, just to keep you on track – that sacred date over there is the world release date for one of the most anticipated Marvel Movies of the century – X-MEN: APOCALYPSE!

Anyway, the final official trailer of the movie was released less than four days ago, and I can say with utmost sincerity that this is literally the best Marvel trailer EVER!Even better than the last!! I’m not kidding; its got everything to make you want to freeze yourself until the moment it comes out so you wont have to suffer the agony of waiting.

We watch TV Shows for many reasons; sometimes its to relieve our boredom, most of the time, its to escape from the harsh realities of life, and other times – its so we can ogle and drool at sexy cast members of our favourite shows. But more often than not,  these aren’t the only reasons, sure they’re the majority reason, but like me; there are some people who actually watch shows because of how cute and adorable the cast members are..

Yeah, I know how weird that may sound, but so is watching a show because a main character shows too much cleavage (Hello Rachel Bloom!).

I am a huge fan of Jon Favreu. I think he is a fine actor and an even better director. I mean he is the one responsible for kickstarting the Marvel Cinematic Universe (and frankly doesnt get enough credit for it) with the first iron man movie back in 2008. if that movie had failed , the MCU for all we know might not exist today, and we might not be getting Civil War like we are in a matter of days. Let that sink in. LOL.

REVIEW

Not only does this movie adaptation do the comic justice, it is also a very exciting, crude and blunt new take on the superhero genre. But if I’m being totally honest, Ryan Reynolds was the one holding everything together, sorry I meant Deadpool!

 

RATING – 7.6/10

As usual, the story couldn’t be any more interesting – But for Chrissakes —– where’s the execution? where’s the scene that sends chills down the audiences spines? and don’t get me started on the effects….

RATING -3.5/10

Avengers : Age of Ultron (Movie Review)

AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

Story – Tony Stark (Iron man) and Bruce Banner (the hulk) embark on the creation of a peacekeeping machine called Ultron – a peacekeeping machine that ends up being the no1 cause of chaos in the world; and the Avengers are left to deal with it… Or him!

REVIEW:
Unlike many Marvel Movies, this Avengers sequel doesn’t have much going for it. If anything, it feels more like an episode than a movie event… But its special effect is definitely 10 Applauses worthy…

Rating – 7.2/10

20 WORD REVIEW: Although Ant-Man has instantly become the simplest of all Marvel movies, it definitely gives superhero stories a new unique feel.
